FAQs

Does your practice accept insurance?

While I do not participate as an in-network provider with insurance plans, most insurance companies do provide partial coverage for services with an out-of-netwrok provider.  You will be responsible for payment, and I will I provide documentation of your services for you to use for potential reimbursement through your insurance provider.  This is not a guaranteed action that you insurance provider will take. I strongly encourage you to check with your insurance provider regarding their policy for reimbursement of out-of-network services. I am happy to provide you with a Good Faith Estimate (estimated cost of treatment) as well.

How do I pay for services?

All billing is handled through the client portal. Payments are made electronically with a debit, credit or HSA card that is linked to your portal.

How often should I attend therapy sessions?

The frequency with which you attend is dependent upon a number of resources (time, financial, mental, emotional).  The nature of your presenting concern, and the therapist’s professional opinion are also factors. Typically, it is most helpful to attend therapy weekly or bi- weekly (every other week).

Do you prescribe medication?

No, I am not a prescriber. If it appears that an evaluation for psychotropic medication might be useful, I will refer clients to a medical professional who can discuss the appropriateness of medication as a treatment option.

Do you offer virtual appointments?

I do offer virtual and in-person appointments. When in the metro Memphis area, I maintain a preference for in-person sessions, particularly at the outset of therapy. However, virtual offers both you and I greater flexibility when considering travel, health precautions and scheduling limitations. I use a HIPAA compliant telehealth platform for my virtual sessions. I do ask that you find a quiet location, away from others for your sessions.

What is your cancellation policy?

I understand that life is busy and sometimes comes with unexpected changes to your schedule. I ask for 48 hours notice of cancellations/request to re-schedule. However, if you miss your appointment or cancel with less than 48 hours notice, you will be charged the full session fee. No show or late cancellations cannot be submitted to insurance for reimbursement.
