About Dr. Lauren

I enjoy working with adults as individuals or in couples (and other non-traditional relationships). Together, we can explore the issues you face to better understand them and work through them in a non-judgmental manner. The journey of healing may involve temporary periods of discomfort as you begin to work through past experiences or confront issues you have previously been avoiding. As a relational therapist, I bring my authentic self into our sessions. We work collaboratively to bring forth your strengths, focused on the relationship within psychotherapy in a culturally attuned process. I was trained under the psychodynamic tradition, and use my experiences and appreciation of community to enhance treatment. As a practitioner and teacher of mindfulness, I may invite you to engage in more mindful ways of being. I integrate CBT techniques, namely DBT-which combines eastern and western philosophies. I'm excited to join you on your journey of self-healing, wellness, and understanding!

I am a native Memphian who returned home after 21 years of living and learning in cities across the U.S.  I previously worked in the educational sector teaching elementary school special education and working with teachers and administrators to better their special education practices. My time in education led me directly to my clinical degree, which I received from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. My clinical work has spanned multiple settings including schools, residential facilities, outpatient clinics, hospitals and primary care clinics.

Outside of clinical practice, I love experiencing new and exciting cuisines, live music, traveling and yoga. Of course, all of these are enhanced when in the company of loved ones, including my lively dog, Luna!
